California is a wonderful and diverse state in which to go birding. It is also huge. What we have done is to maximize birding and minimize driving by designing a tour that is literally a west-to-east slice across the state. It begins on the coast, takes us through several mountain ranges, then across the Central Valley and to the Sage Brush desert of Mono Lake.
