Best Photos of 2022

As the curator of these monthly Recent Photo Galleries, I thought it might be fun to select the best 25 or so images from last year's galleries. Little did I know how difficult it would be to pare them down to such a skimpy number. Instead, there are 43 photos here, taken by participants and guides on our tours. They are in no particular order—except the last five; those are my five favorite images of 2022 (or at least they were when I finished this gallery!). These selections were made with no consideration of who the photographer was. We promise we didn't play favorites! These were just the shots that were most captivating or memorable.
