Pretty much everywhere one goes in the Neotropics there is a Pygmy-Owl or two. Usually it is the widespread Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl, although in this part of Mexico we encounter the Colima Pygmy-Owl, endemic to Western Mexico and found in dry forests of the region. We usually see it right on the outskirts of the city of Colima, rather appropriately.
